Women's Health

New parenthood and menopause can bring significant physical and emotional changes to a person’s life. These changes can disrupt a person’s mood, energy levels, functional cognition, physical abilities, self-esteem, self-efficacy, sense of identity and much more. They are two of the most profound transitions experienced in our lives, and we are forever changed by them.

While there are excellent supports available in our province for women’s mental health, nutrition, pelvic health, lactation support, and infant sleep, there is a gap in services available to help women figure out, at a functional level, how it all fits together. Occupational therapy can help you bring some order to the chaos by seeing and acknowledging how you function in your environment, and work alongside you to find what is going to work for you, in your context.

Note on Language:
Though we use the term “woman” with reference to women’s health services, we recognise this may not be a term with which some folks identify. We acknowledge not all women have a uterus and not all birthing people identify as women. We do not limit who may access these services, and we are committed to providing care to all people, including transgender, and non-binary folks, in a safe, inclusive, non-judgemental manner.
