Your Rights Under PHIA
How We Store and Protect Information

Client records are stored using Jane App, a PHIPA/PHIA-compliant practice management system with industry-standard encryption and access controls

Website form submissions are stored securely and accessed only by authorized staff

We limit access to personal and health information to the treating therapist

We retain client records in accordance with NSOTR’s recommendation of 20 years from the last entry in the record, or 20 years after the day on which the client reached or would have become 19 years of age.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information.
Third Party Services
We may use third-party providers for services such as website hosting, scheduling, payment processing, or email communication. These providers are selected based on their privacy and security practices, and they are only given access to information necessary to perform their function.
Children's Information
If services are provided to a minor, personal health information is collected with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, in accordance with PHIA and applicable consent-to-treatment laws in Nova Scotia.
